School children to pay respects to late King Project

Following the passing of King Bhumibol on 13 October, 2016, the Bureau of the Royal Household had announced the arrangements allowing people from all walks of life across the nation to pay their last respects to the late King at the Dusit Throne Hall, in the
Royal Palace from 29 October, 2016. In the event, the King Power Foundation, in cooperation with Airasia, implemented a project “Bringing Children to Pay Respects to the Late King.” From
28 November to 29 December 2016, 150 children from
21 Rachaprachanukroh Schools in 15 provinces were flown in from different provinces daily to bid farewell to their beloved King.
Two subsequent projects were brought to fruition: an essay contest and an exhibition contest, both of which were tributes to the
Late King. Scholarships were given to winners while those who were not able to travel to the Dusit Throne Hall felt the mourning ambience of the ceremony through the essays and the exhibitions.
